September 8th Construction Brief
Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:54AM The entire process can only be described as ultimate chaos simultaneously tainted by a grand mal attack, this rush towards completion of the winery. In response & as a break, Mary & I drove up the Big Sur coast highway yesterday. She bought some lovely little thingies meant to add glory to the tasting room while I drank gin. Several. When we returned a bit after 9 PM last night, we discovered that someone had left the courtyard gate open. This morning we discovered that the deer (AKA, "medow maggots") had thouroughly feasted on the roses.
Here then are two quick shots of the tasting room progress . . . first, a view from my kitchen door showing tile going up on the roof & great piles of associated rubble:
Last, a view looking up towards the tasting room, with more piles of rubble:
Painting of the entire interior is in progress, & the big sliding doors to the production area are being assembled. The stairs leading down to the barrel room are having there footings dug with my frivolous hope that said stairs will be complete by mid next week. We shall see.
