2006 Viognier - To the eye, an alloy of bronze & gold. Then to the nose: the essence of orange zest, yellow-ripe bartlett pear & quince, with just a trace of cumin & camphor from some hidden place on the upper shelf. To the tongue, the distinct flavor of marzipan laced with rose petal, apricot & peach. Serving the Viognier: As is the case with all Le Cuvier white wines, this gold-tone wine is fundamentally a red wine, so please don't chill her any more than you would a fine red. At its abundant best when room-temperature cool.

2006 Pinot Noir - A memory with the jaunty cast of a leather headband, bright cherry freckles, the sweet fecund smells of a country barnyard, bacon, crimson-bright pluot & raspberry compote on corncakes in the moist morning air, her lush hair scented by a fine tussle in a tangle of wild sage & fennel, slow smoke from cedar wood & a dusting of white pepper across your palm as she threads your fortune. This Pinot is filled with all the possibilities of an early autumn morning in 1966 before we lost our hair.

2006 Cabernet Franc – Velvety robes of cardinal red in a glass draped with layers of vermillion, dangerously swirled overhead by a knock-kneed fool dancing on a tumbled bed of luxuriously rich & black-tipped ermine tails. The floral scent of dogwood & orange blossoms, magnolia & elderberry, paprika & dark chocolate with shavings of winter truffle, all wrapped in bacon smoke. The taste follows with more chocolate, then with blackberries, dried cherries, figs & orange picot tea. A trifle giddy, divinely sumptuous.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon - A congeries of flickering red jewels; a deep & profoundly dark multiplex of cinnamon-chocolate & violets floating in the swirling essence of ripe berries, tart crimson olallieberry, juicy black cherry, & ripe cassis. Earthy, too: tobacco & leather, sage-roasted forest mushroom, ponderosa pine, & the randy scent of autumn truffles, all dancing together with fine brio. Blended afflatus: 82.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec & 2.4% Petit Verdot.

2006 Zinfandel - Thick oxblood & magenta swirling in your glass, with purple wisteria flowers, fresh ground white pepper & treacle on the nose, followed by black pepper & cocoa-dusted raspberry on the tongue. Then a whole other cast of characters - tea & cedar candied cherry, rose & morning glory, oregano & fenugreek - cluster around this fuchsin-Zin, giving the wine an extraordinarily long, elegant finish.
